Specials are one-off creatures tied to a place, an event or a printed code. They are hand-drawn like the Kingdom Leaders and every bit as collectible — the difference is how you get one. You have to be there.
Every card scans. The first image is the concept art. Run the scan and it becomes the exact vector artwork that appears in your collection — same pose, same palette, no bait and switch. Tap a card to scan it again, or send it back to the art.
A special is not a kingdom leader. Gullzar is a Bird, and the Bird kingdom is still waiting on a leader of its own. Being a special is about how you obtain it, not what kind of animal it is — so specials can turn up in any kingdom, and more are coming.
The other few million creatures
Leaders are hand-drawn. Everything else is built on the spot from the barcode you scanned — body plan, palette, expression and rarity trim all come out of the code. The same product always makes the same creature, and no two products make the same one.
